Legacy Links
“History is not a series of isolated events but a flowing river, carrying the legacy of countless cultures into the future.”
Legacy Links visually explores the connections that bind humanity across history and geography. Emerging from the grand facade of the Meiji Jingu Gaien Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery, this videomapping animation brings to life ancient civilizations – from Sumer and Egypt to Greece, Rome, Maya, Persia, China, and India – continually metamorphosing into one another in a fluid, dynamic display.
The animation underscores that all these civilizations have influenced our contemporary culture and society, creating a bridge between the past and the present.
Legacy Links, therefore, represents a reflection on how we can unite and synchronize our efforts to address current global problems. By exploring themes of connection and synchronization, this video mapping projects the wisdom and collaborative spirit of ancient civilizations onto the urban screen of the 21st century, paying homage to their shared legacy and underscoring the need for a united, global approach to the issues facing today’s world.
